PHILOSOPHY AT SCHOOL. ABSURD OR NECESSITY

Authors:
Abstract:

This article is a summary of teaching experience of Philosophy at school. Despite the seeming strangeness of such an idea the author considers it as a positive experience and seeks to demonstrate the possibility and reasonability of it at high school. The article features the specifics of philosophical knowledge in relation to schooling and strives to distinguish philosophy from such phenomena as personal worldview, wisdom as well as myth. The important point here is that philosophy is the first scientific form of knowledge with a main question about the relationship between philosophy and human nature and their close and deep interconnection. Including philosophy into a range of school educational programs is considered by the author in the context of his philosophical analysis of education in general. The author concludes that education is not only pedagogical, but also a philosophical concept which makes obvious the necessity in philosophical knowledge at school.
