The authors of the paper analyzed the means of ideological influence accompanying the foreign policy activity of the Monarch of Spain Philip II Habsburg (1527-1598). "The doctrinal climate" and the main concepts of political ideologies of the Spanish Golden Age was investigated as well as the Renaissance Pragmatical Machiavellianism and political Platonism, the Reformational Humanity and Catholic Counter-Reformation, the "Catholic Imperialism" and national political Idea of Spain. The area of the review included the most well- known episodes of the King of Spain Philip II foreign policy activity together with some socio-political doctrines of the Spanish Theorists of the 16th century.
