PARADIGM OF RESPONSIBILITY IN EUROPEAN PHILOSOPHY
This article analyzes the various concepts of responsibility in European philosophy: Antiquity (Plato, Aristotle, Cicero), Middle Ages (St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas), Modern Times (Hobbes, Locke, Kant ) and modernity (H. Arendt, D. Bonhoffer, J. Maritain, G. Yonas, J. Habermas). Based on the research conclusions about the dialectic of the concept of responsibility in the history of philosophy, reflecting the development of socio-cultural processes, the formation of selfconsciousness, the progress of political, legal and ethical standards. This controversial and long-process was accompanied by the formation of a culture of responsibility, having its institutional features, axiological and theoretical grounds. It is also noted that in the twentieth century and the new trends emerged in the philosophical conceptualization of responsibility caused social and political changes, globalization and cross-cultural transformations.
