THE INVENTION OF EUROPEAN TRADITION: FROM SOURCE TO WORLD WAR I

The article depicts the main stages and techniques of “invention” and practical realization of idea of European unity in period before World War I. The author shows that the basis for the finding of a united Europe were looking for or creating a common political institutions, or in the construction of European identity options.
