The Russian ecclesiastical mission in Beijing was created in accordance with the internal and external interests of the Russian state. The mission played a major role in the establishment and development of China-Russia bilateral relations. At the time of its opening, there were no diplomatic relations between Russia and China, and the mission served for many years as an unofficial representative of the Russian government in China. It laid the foundations for scientific study of China and the preparation of the first Russian sinologists.

<abstracts>
Establishment of the Russian consular service in Australia 160 years ago marked the beginning of contacts between the two countries at the official interstate level. Russian consuls have made a significant contribution to the establishment of Russian-Australian relations. They supplied the Russian Foreign Ministry with diverse and reliable information concerning the development of Australia, as well as the changes in the international situation in the South Pacific, and contributed to the development of trade and cultural ties. Consuls defended actively the interests of Russian citizens in Australia, and contributed to improving the image of Russia in the eyes of Australians.

The article deals with international and inter-confessional relations in the Baltic provinces of the Russian empire. The most part of the population in that region confessed the Evangelic-Lutheran faith. Although Orthodoxy was official confession in the empire, the local Orthodox residents, who made up minority in the region and dwelt in alien confessional environment, experienced certain difficulties in their everyday and social life. Local civil and diocesan authorities had to make efforts in order to support the local Orthodox people and protect them against pressure exerted by the Lutheran nobility and clergy.

The Earth is a common home of many thousands peoples which are both united by reason, general for them needs, and ways of their satisfying, and differing them objective living conditions and value systems, what determines ways of life, mentality, customs and traditions. They are in a certain relationship with each other. The rules and principles have formed throughout history under the influence of objective (laws of nature) and subjective (laws of nations) factors. Educators of humankind, reflecting on their correlation, believed
that the laws of nations, which are known in modern times as international law, have as its basis the laws of nature and must be consistent with them. However, contrary to reason, the gap between many norms of international law and the objective requirements of life increases. The article contains an explanation of the reasons for this.

<abstracts>
The motives, strategies, tactics of political discourse and linguistic tools used by politicians to achieve the goal are the subject of investigation. The author sets the following tasks: to reveal the content of the basic concepts and to describe the genre space of political discourse. The relevance of the selected topic is determined by the growing importance of political communication in modern society, as a factor of influence on mass consciousness. The significance of studying political discourse is dictated on the one hand by the need to search and further study the special ways of speech impact on the audience, and the need for the audience on the other hand to decipher the true tasks and secret receptions of language manipulation. The work on the analysis of political discourse is in demand in Russian linguistics in connection with the integrative trend in the development of the science of language and the importance of understanding the results obtained in related sciences - political science, sociology, psychology, and cultural studies studied from the point of view of linguistics. Political discourse attracts the attention of political scientists, specialists in cultural study and linguists, since in this field of investigation the characteristics of the linguistic personality as the bearer of the corresponding culture and role relations are put forward.
