IMMIGRATION POLICY OF GERMANY: THE BALANCE BETWEEN ECONOMY NEEDS AND PUBLIC PERCEPTION

Abstract:

The article is devoted to the exploration of the main tendencies of immigration flows to Germany. In this paper, immigration processes are observed through the historical perspective and in the combination with the analysis of various models for migration policy's regulation. The study is accomplished according to the stage of socio-historical development of the Federal Republic of Germany. The several legislative acts adopted throughout different periods of Germany's historical development in order to demonstrate the essential aspects of German society attitude towards migration flows have been scrutinized The peculiar characteristics inherent to the immigration processes to Germany are analyzed.
