The article describes the economic situation in the Russian system of international economic relations. It presents indicators about the intermediate position of Russia in the world economy between developed and developing countries. According to the author, Russia deploys rather low-profile position in the world due to the creation and implementation of its own model of transition to a market society. Among other things Russia develops and implements its reforms. Meanwhile the situation for Russia is changing for the better, because it takes an active part in global economic processes, participates actively in foreign trade.
